Sigh. Two more years of more of the same. We knew they were coming back, but I'd have hoped it would have been on a shorter leash, like a one-year deal and
an option. Yeah, I know, they got more out of this team than what was expected, blah blah blah, but again and again we have hackers, injured vets playing, a
player who knew he'd need surgery acquired, etc. Need I go on?

Did anyone really think this wouldn't happen? As long as a little under 3 million per year come through the turnstiles, buy the garlic fries, the $9 beers,
do you really think anything is going to change?

We all knew it would happen. For me, I'm surprised it's for two years plus an option. A one-year-plus-option contract would have sent the message that
management was happy that they got as much from this team as they did, but they're on a short leash and if they can't do better they're out. After
the news was made that both would be retained, I think I would have been happy with that sort of a contract rather than "Hey, here's two years plus.
Heckofajob, Brownie! Oops, Sabes and Boch."

From what I understand, Bowtie had mentioned on Chronicle Live that BS' contract had an option for 2010 that they could exercise. Bochy's was free and
clear.......

unreal...you can bet your butt that if Mays Field didn't have the Wrigley-type draw that it does, his ass would have been out the door long ago...or a
least scouting some low A team, getting mustard all over his notes.
