While I know that much still needs to be done, I'd rather look back on the good things this season....

Home record...(sorry, don't have it here,( but one of the best in baseball IIRC.

52-29......Only Boston and the Yankees had better records at home. Good call Dave.....made attending games much more fun....and probably one of the main
reasons that although MLB attendance went down 6.7%...the Giants only went down 1,700.

52-29? That's amazing. If they had only come close to matching that on the road we would have had a high 90's win club.

Since I have jet lag, I can only think of one right now:

Yep.......it made almost exactly the same sound and it invoked almost exactly the same sick feeling as I felt when Randy Johnson hit JT Snow in the face at Spring Training. 2 things I never hope to witness again. I just looked that up......the JT Snow eye socket fracture was WAY back in 1997. How is that possible? 12+ years. |

Molina inadvertantly entering the Sausage Race in Milwaukee. Still makes me chuckle.

Nate's arm.
Matt Cain winning Millie Mac. JUAN URIBE! Being at the Park any ol game. Opening Day with my brother. Seeing Tim get his Cy Young award. Sanchez's No Hitter FTW. Velez's return from AAA. Seeing Barry at the Park. |

Driving four hours to Cincinnati to see the Giants play. Lincecum gives up 5 runs, but somehow Garko had his only good game of the year and drove in 4, and the
Giants win in extra innings.
Uribe's walkoff, Panda's walkoff... Sanchez's No-No. I feel very, very fortunate to have gone to that one. First in 33 years! My goodness.

Hard to rate this above the actual no-hitter and I don't mean to because the game as a whole was amazing. One of the best, if not the best (Giants) game I
ever watched...
But the most exciting "moment" on the season was when Rowand made that catch for the 2nd out in the 9th. After Uribe booted the ball and handed away the perfect game I didn't think there was any way the team would keep its composure and finish it off. I was super timid over any ball being put into play. Rowand stepped up and truly made one of the most spectacular snags going back on a ball ever. I don't know how it looked at the park but after it left the bat and the camera angle they had on the trajectory I thought for sure it was in the CF bleachers. My heart went from sinking inside my stomach to jumping out of my throat in a span of 2 seconds. Sanchez Striking out Cabrera looking to end it was the Cherry. Overall good thing, as someone who lives to watch the K it was pretty sweet to see so many. Bitter sweet all too often but still great to watch a strike 3 called again and again.

I think I posted this, but the next time Kruk was on KFOG, he said that when they went to commercial after that call, Kuip turned to him
and said "You are such a DICK."

I don't like hearing stuff like that about Duane. Although he does look pretty cranky alot of the time. |

Well, I think I'd get a little annoyed (maybe more than a little) if I had to spend that much time with Kruk and his homerism too. It gets old. And
he's nowhere near as much of a homer as a lot of broadcasters...
