Sorry, SB -- just not a fan. Nothing I can really pinpoint, other than a lack of clutch. But he's always seemed like a rented player and not a Giant.

All things are relative. For the same money we could have had Juan Pierre or Gary Matthews Jr. But equally we could have win in centre and Nate in right for a tenth of the price.
Running headlong into walls and being a nice guy isn't enough. I could do that for the Giants for free. I'll root for Rowand, but it isn't going to work out.

Say Hey -

It's getting tough to get some love here. I think that Aaron Rowand added to the Giants circa 1997-2003 could have become a fan favorite. He's the kind of hard-nosed player Giants fans grow to love when he's added to the mix under the big stars. But joining a losing team as a high priced free agent and under performing in his 1st year he is seen as a dog. Are people linking him with Zito as a bust and drag on the team?

I'm not sure what happened to him, but he had 2 good months and then fell drastically. I'm not expecting him to be an All Star, but I do think he can be very solid. And face it, he's signed for 4 more years, so we'd better get used to him.

Looking forward to watching you play tonight big boy

On Saturday against the Mets, he collected three hits for the first time this season and drove in three runs for the second time. On Sunday, Rowand went 1-for-3 and scored a run in the Giants' 2-0 victory. He was batting .333 in his previous nine games prior to Tuesday's at-bat, hitting safely in seven of them.
