Tyler Walker (Tommy John surgery) is throwing fastballs between 88-92 mph while rehabbing at extended spring training.
Walker, who has saved 34 major league games during his career, will be assigned to Triple-A Fresno in a week or two and could join the major league roster by the end of June.

Fred Lewis
Quote:
Giants placed outfielder Fred Lewis on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique.
Don't count on seeing Lewis back before the All-Star break.
Dave Roberts
Quote:
Giants activated outfielder Dave Roberts from the 15-day disabled list.
Rather than call up Nate Schierholtz for a couple of days, the Giants opted to bring back Roberts earlier than expected. He'll be the primary leadoff man and center field until his next DL stint.
Eliezer Alfonzo
Quote:
Giants placed catcher Eliezer Alfonzo on the 15-day disabled list with a partially torn PCL in his left knee.
Alfonzo will miss at least two months. If he opts for surgery, he'd likely have to sit out the rest of the season.
Guillermo Rodriguez
Quote:
Giants purchased the contract of catcher Guillermo Rodriguez from Triple-A Fresno.
This sure says a lot about how the Giants regard Justin Knoedler these days. Knoedler had 200 points of OPS on Rodriguez at Triple-A, yet the Giants chose the to go with the 29-year-old defensive specialist instead. They'll be on the lookout for a new No. 2 catcher.
