Just saw this on espn.com....
sports.espn.go.com/mlb/ne...id=2133987
San Francisco Giants: Left-hander Kirk Rueter was designated for assignment Sunday after being activated him from the disabled list.
Rueter, who lost his starting job last month, is 2-7 this season with an ERA of 5.95 in 20 games. He had been on the disabled list with gout in his right big toe and last pitched July 29, when he was knocked out in the fourth inning against Milwaukee.
Rueter, 34, had been with the Giants since 1996, compiling a record of 105-80.
Sad to see this happen to a great competitor after so many years of contributing. Hope Woody catches on with a contendor.
