I was reading this report on Linden and patting myself on the back for not blowing 20 bucks on Sickels book this year. What really stood out in his Prospect Handbook last year is that he didn't sound like he had seen a single kid who played west of the Mississippi after about 7/1- not just Giatnts kids, but all of them. I love his analysis, he's dead on forr Linden-as of about June 15- but as a one man show, he's just too little butter on too much toast. As for the 30 homer potential, that's not from Dr. B direct, that's from Baseball America and Team One. One needs to remember that Linden is only starting his 3rd minor league campaign and is only 23, before looking too closely at the first half last year. That's the problem with the rush job- by normal progression (like Ortmier for instance) Linden should have reached AA last year - if you remember that, it isn't surprising that his learning curve last year was pretty steep.
