Dave:

I hear your pain about Kaz Matsui. Don't tell the other Dave or TC, but at least he's going to be on my fantasy team this year. :lol

Okay, about that list....

I've looked at the video of Todd Jennings a few times at the mlb.com site, and he looks really good. Sleeper is right, and I like the comparison to Biggio- Jennings really looks like an all-around ballplayer.

Pretty interesting stuff about Threets.....I guess with Liriano gone, he's going to be our power lefty. If he indeed made a change in his delivery that's helping to improve his command, it sounds like he could move up the ladder pretty quickly. And you think that we might get Liriano back from the Twins?

I've always been skeptical about Schierhotz....big power numbers at Chabot don't impress me, that place is a launching pad. But....if he can indeed crank them out of Pac Bell, we might well be on to something.....

We saw Angel Chavez playing SS at San Jose last year at Guru's "Chicken Rally" :chicken and aw12 (Audrey) and I looked at each other right after he made one play and both of us said "nice hands" at the same time.....but Chavez sure didn't look like much of a hitter.

Neither did Ortmeier for that matter, and there he is, looking like the best hitter the organization has to offer.

I don't know whether that's good, or bad.

But at least there seems to be a few bright spots on the horizon.

And, all things being equal....if we ever do win the "Big One" I think it would be a lot more satisfying if it was due to some of our own homegrown players, rather than with a group that just happened to be the right combination of PMLV's or rent-a-veterans.......:thumbsup
