I cringed (cussed out loud, actually) when I heard Liriano was the other player in the Pierzynski deal. I've been following him for a while, but like Felix Diaz, I accepted that the Giants recognized the signs that no matter how good his stuff, he would never stick in a major league rotation with that stamina and history of arm problems. So they cut bait, just like they've done with at least a couple dozen other young arms over the past 6 1/2 years.

Yep. I should be getting my copy of this year's Baseball America Prospect Handbook within a few weeks. It will be interesting (in their expert opinion) if indeed the organization has fallen way, way down.
