Ian Kennedy isn't a FA after this year - he starts this season with 2.124 of service time. It will be his first year of arbitration. And he is currently earning $500K. The Giants will have to put up with him for another 3 seasons after this one.

On the other hand, after this season the snakes could lose :

Stephen Drew ($10M mutual option for 2013)
Putz ($6.5M '13 team option)
Takashi Saito
Lyle Overbay

I just don't understand why no team really bids for Saito's services. Yes, he's old. He's Mota, just considerably better. Sure, he might break down. But I would have been willing to give him an incentive-laced contract any time over the last 2 off-seasons. $1M guaranteed, all kinds of incentives (40 games, 50 games, 55 games, 60 games, 50 IP, 55 IP, 60 IP). The man has been money. I would have signed Saito instead of Hensley in a split second.

hmmm. Marco..I think you misread my post.  It's Ian KINSLER.  I know all those Ian's look alike.
