Did you know that Gary Brown's base running abilities (as opposed to his speed) are rated as 80 on the 80-20 speed? Albert Pujol's home run ability is also an 80, whereas Burriss's power or Bengie Molina's speed would be 20s. I had no idea he was that good.

Have to say, it's quite clear that this lineup has been assembled with next year in mind. If Brown can get on base regularly, he'll be the starter in CF next year. Huff will be gone, the Pagan Angel will be flying his wings over some other hell hole, allowing room in LF for Melky Cabrera if he re-signs. I'd absolutely look to be trading Brett Pill or Brandon Belt mid season if we can get anything in return, presumably a second baseman, which in lieu of Freddy Sanchez (for how long? For ever?) I agree looks brutal.

I can see a plan in what the Giants are doing, which gives me hope.
