ROY is a nice award. A player only has 1 shot at it. With only a few exceptions the winners have had very good to great careers. Hopefully, Buster will fulfill his promise and be a top player for the Giants for a decade and more.

The one thing I would like to see improve is his defense. Although it's hard to argue with success, I think he sets up too early. I watched and compared him to the other catchers in the post-season and there was a significant difference there. Also, he will have to get better at dropping down and closing off the area between the knees. He leaves a lot of space down there for balls to skip through. He makes up for some errors in form with his quick hands and athleticism, but a little improvement is still due.

Silver Slugger, eventually. Gold Glove? Yadier is still ahead of him.
