Can any team in baseball weather the storm if one of their top pitchers were hurt for a couple of months.  Let's say the Yanks sign Cliff Lee.  Should they be asking the same question "What if Lee or CC were hurt for a couple months?"

Yes I think other teams Can handle an injury to there number 1 or 2 starters better than the Giants can. The Giants very dependent on their starting pitching much more so than the yankees who if the yanks lose Sabathia if they have Lee they'll be fine because they have so much offense they can still win games during the season. You may be right about postseason baseball no team would be able to survive losing their best pitchers then, but the Giants are so dependent on starting pitching particularly Lincecum and Cain we'd be in a whole heep of trouble if one of them went down.

I didn't think about Runzler though hopefully he can do the job. He sounds like a good guy heck maybe he'd be better than Zito and take his spot on the rotation.
