BP:

another thing on LCDs... as i mentioned above, LCDs don't like you to change the screen resolutions - it can be done, but it tends to get blurry when you're not in the native resolution (as above, it's the fact that the screen is made up of individual pixels)....

so on this subject, another thing to consider is the amount of screen "desktop" you want.... as you know there are a number of native resolutions as well as sizes for LCDs.... 1024x768; 1280x1024; 1680x1050; 1600x1200; 1920x1200; along with the wide laptop displays, etc., while they're mated with 15"; 17"; 20"; 23"; 15.2"; etc.

in fact, i personally make this my number one criteria for purchasing a LCD display (well maybe second - of course first is $$$).

I bring this up because for example, if you use iTunes or any program like Excel that displays a lot of categories or columns that expand across your screen desktop, you tend to have to scroll horizontally to read all of the categories if they go horizontally off your screen. With a wider resolution, more of the page or program is displayed on the screen. Therefore, less work.

Or you can display two programs side by side and drag and drop items from one to the other without having to switch up and down with overlapped windows/pages.... or you can display 2 web pages side by side.....

just another thing to consider..... sufficiently confused yet? :thumbsup
