My point exactly, SLO. Seems to me Clemente was an important enough figure in the history of baseball, not just Pittsburgh baseball, to warrant a pre-game ceremony honoring his memory.

To halt the game (which should never happen for any reason other than a milestone being reached during said game) and have a ceremony then made it seem like an afterthought.
