Both Ensberg and Lane are young only in comparison to the Giants roster, and both have dramatic home/road splits.

Ensberg is only a few months younger than Feliz, but it's definitely a plus that he's still under contractual control. Of course, Ensberg is clearly better at getting on base. However, prior to this year, his road OPS is .769 versus .978 at home. I'd definitely be concerned about which player the Giants would be getting.

Lane's road OPS prior to this year is .740 versus .911 at home, he's 3.5 years older than Linden, and I think he'll be eligible for free agency after 2007.

Putting contract situations aside, I think I'd rather have Feliz and Linden than Ensberg and Lane. But, considering Feliz is about to be a free agent, I'd try to make a move around Feliz for Ensberg.

How about something like Feliz, Finley, and Wilson for Ensberg and 23 year old Hunter Pence?
