bleach,

First let me preface this by saying this is all just my opinion. I will also add that, to go along with audrey's point, most very talented ballplayers (heck people in general) have big egos and can come across as arrogant and at times a jerk. DiMaggio did, Rose did , Ty Cobb, etc.. I don't think Frank is any different.

That said, I don't think he is a jerk because he is "old school", I think he is a jerk for other reasons. In the example of the Angels and the way he acted there, he isn't being "old school" he is being a jerk. When he comes out and basically says Barry has used steroids, he isn't being old school, he is being a jerk. There have been other less than flattering stories about him too over the years. I will give you the point about him not liking Moneyball not making him a jerk but I had to throw that in there to pull your chain abit. ;)

Anyway, I can see hanks point about K&K being intimanated by him perhaps still ( my dad is 80 and I am 46 but he can still give me a look sometimes that makes me 10 again!). Whatever the reason, my observation that it was not a fun filled interview and seemed uncomfortable and very little eye contact. I have seen them interview other old timers and they didn't appear that way.

My last point, and I have said this before, that "old school players" like Robinson, Dimaggio, etc get a free pass when it comes to their image while Barry gets beat up for everything he doesn't do and is given no credit for what he does.
