The guy wins 191 games in '03 and '04 and, now, because he's saddled with a mediocre pitching staff, injuries to Bonds and Benitez, and has to manage his way around a lineup that has included such stellar dogcrap like Michael Tucker, Edgardo Alfonzo and Ray Durham he's now a "lousy manager"?

well wait a second there champ. Felipe can't be blamed for the way the team has lost games this year but he should be held in high regard to the way the team won the previous 2 years? I respectfully disagree with you. First of all when Felipe came on board the team was pretty much already intact. What he did the first year the guys (bullpen) could handle the overuse cause they're arms weren't ruined yet. So Felipe coasted through that first year. Last year the overuse was more and more evident as the year went on and now this year it continues. If Felipe was on to something with his constant shuffling and "playing every game as if it were the last game of the world series" then every other team and manager would be copying his style. If there was evidence that this style was reaping benefits then it would be instituted league wide. But nooo, Felipe seems to be the only manager that still believes in this style. An outdated and worn style at best.He has been said to have one of the best baseball minds but it sure hasn't been proven to me from what he has done to the team. My blame for the performance of the team goes approximately 75% to the style of the manager.
