If you watch the play, what happened was the first baseman sprinted straight towards the Dodger dugout as if HE thought the runner was out. I think Linden looked up as he was rounding third and saw this and assumed the runner was out at first. I think Gene Glynn screaming at him jolted him out of his reverie. That's what I say anyway.

There were a number of bone-headed baserunning plays last night, on both sides.
