In the "Extra Baggs" blog, this tidbit was revealed :

It hasn't been announced yet, but Steve Decker will be promoted to manage Triple-A Fresno and Andy Skeels to move up to Double-A Richmond. The Giants might be more loaded with major league managerial prospects than anyone else.

I went to the SJ Giants' game last night - it was a blast.

I don't follow the minors that much, other than the odd bit of Posey news, but I noticed that Kevin Frandsen was playing first base today. Could this spell the end for Aurilia? Perhaps Frandsen will become the multi-position utility infielder and Richie will be released when he comes off the DL?

KNBR, SFGate, and Rotoworld are reporting that Posey is headed to Fresno. The first half of the Minor League season has ended and Giants Management is rumoured to want Posey to finish the second half in Fresno so he will be MLB ready by spring. This doesn't sound well for any extension of Molina's contract.

Also there are rumblings that Bumgarten might make a short stop in Fresno and head on up.

Have not been in first place in the Northern Division of the California League since the first day of the season. Never thought it would happen this year. But somehow that idiot manager has gotten them to the top, and they once again clinch the first half of the season.

I have to say I was furious to hear, in the post game comments, the announcer say that Andy Skeels said to him that this team is exhausted. Well, I wonder why...half the team has sat on the bench most of the 70 games...

The Reno Aces are in their inaugural season, they're the Snakes' AAA team (formerly Tucson) and Reno is now the smallest city in the country with a AAA team. They built a new ballpark downtown so my girl & I drove over the hill today to check it out and see the visiting Fresno Grizzlies. Nice new ballpark centrally located downtown, Truckee River on one side, the new train trench on the other, holds about 9000, a bit over 7000 there today on a nice 80 degree spring day....
